Simon Stewart & Terry Emm
They're out on the road (see dates below) and they're starting to get noticed. Here's a review from their recent Manchester gig:
"For a dose of 70's folk expertise, look no further than SIMON STEWART. With an array of songs ripped from his own travelogue he takes us from Barcelona to the inside of love. Stewart has a song for every eventuality. One minute, he's on the railways the next he’s in a road movie. With shades of Isaaks and even Elvis there's a dry humour seeping through at every opportunity. His album "Across The Land" reflects his recent and well deserved inclusion in the MOJO readers-pick playlist. A special treat indeed.
TERRY EMM has a slightly more modern approach to his set, fusing in big strums even if he does settle on a lighter less fettled kind of of acoustica. With guitar rings and a soothing vocal style, Emm has melody on his side at every step. With songs from what could be the American heartland and seasonal references, his songs are often gentle and personal. At times he's a wandering star but can also easily be the long lost indie kid that’s inside us all." manchestermusic.co.uk
